How do I subscribe?

Go to this page and choose your own adventure.

I'm already a member! How do I access your stories?

On our homepage, click on "Log in" in the top-right corner of the page. Enter the email you used to subscribe, then click on the login link that we'll send to your inbox. If you're on mobile, find the "Log In" link in the menu that shows up when you tap the two lines on the top left of the page.

Can I buy a subscription for someone else?

Yes! Also wow, you’re nice. Grab a gift subscription here. You can call yourself a patron of the arts now. 

Why’s there a paywall?

Coyote's approach to paywalling content stems from our cooperative values and our commitment to sustainable, independent journalism. (Note: All stories will be free to access from our launch date of Sept. 15 to Sept. 29!)

We believe that:

  • Independence requires reader support. As a worker-owned cooperative that isn’t swimming in venture capital dollars, member support is essential to our survival and independence.
  • Quality journalism deserves compensation. Our journalists deserve fair pay for their work, which requires creating value that members are willing to support financially.
  • Core information should remain accessible. Information critical to public health, safety, and civic participation should be available to all, regardless of one’s ability to pay.
  • AI companies should have to try really hard to scrape our content.

We pay our writers money, and that money has to come from somewhere.

How do I comment?

Commenting is a benefit for paid memberships. To upgrade, log in to your account and hit “Change” next to your subscription category.

What if I can’t afford a subscription? 

Email us! Thanks to our generous Howler tier subscribers, there’s a (limited) community pool of gifted subscriptions available by request.

Do you offer group subscriptions for institutions?

Sure! Write to us at hello@coyotemedia.org with the number of people who need access to the institutional subscription, and we’ll send you a quote.

How can I cancel my subscription?

To cancel, follow the steps below:

  • Log in to your account at coyotemedia.org
  • Click on the Account button in the top right of the screen, and click “Change” next to your subscription category
  • Scroll to the bottom, and click "Cancel subscription." In the next window, click "confirm cancellation." Your cancellation will be effective for the next cycle; ‘til then, enjoy your subscription!
