Welcome to the COYOTE Calendar. Here are this week's hand-picked events, just for you.

Valentine’s Day might be over, but we’re heading full-speed into festival season in the Bay Area. At the Orinda Theater, you can watch the finest examples of Christploitation cinema during the Fear and Faith Horror Festival (Feb. 20-21). The 21st annual Black Choreographers Festival also starts on Feb. 20 at the Dance Mission Theater in San Francisco, showcasing the work of more than a dozen choreographers over two weekends.

In San Jose, Friend Fest — a 250-vendor market themed around friendship — will take over South Hall Feb. 21-22. And don’t miss the first annual Russian River Fungi Fest in the North Bay (Feb. 21-22), which will celebrate the rich mushroom culture of west Sonoma County. In Oakland, the intriguingly named Stop Men Music Festival (Feb. 22-25) will feature potlucks, art-making, haircuts, and musical performances at a roving succession of venues.

There are also a ton of events coming up associated with Beer Week (Feb. 20-March 1) and SF Music Week (Feb. 23-March 1), so if either of those topics make your heart quiver, you’ve got lots to choose from.

This week we've got more Lunar New Year events, kinky emos, and a pozole pop-up. We'll post new events each Wednesday. Go forth and enjoy!
