Ace Ty is the whiz kid behind COYOTE Media Collective’s branding, and our zany, lovable mascot. Tasked with building out the COYOTE cinematic universe, Ace put on her designer uniform (really big shorts, tiny top) and whipped up a goofy, friendly freak that she describes as an “acquired taste.” Patrons of Oakland’s Tallboy, a martini bar, will see Ty’s fingerprints (her special, cheeked-up olive characters) all over its branding.
So how did this creative soul come to be, what inspires her design aesthetic, and what hopes does she have for COYOTE? Read on for a Q&A with Ace Ty: artist and curious, playful worldbuilder.
